**Speedway, IN** — Local resident Clara Johnston, 28, spent twenty minutes idling in the pit lane at Fast Track Fun Park yesterday, growing increasingly furious that her vehicle was "completely unresponsive to mental cues or basic expectation."

Johnston, who reportedly rented the 6.5 horsepower, frame-only go-kart for a ten-minute session, assumed the $25 entry fee included autonomous lane-centering, adaptive cruise control, and AI-assisted collision avoidance.

"I sat there for five minutes waiting for the dashboard screen to boot up so I could sync my phone," Johnston said, gesturing toward the bare metal steering wheel and singular plastic ignition switch. "There wasn't even a prompt to enter a destination. I kept pressing the center of the wheel, but it just made a sad squeaking sound."

Attendants at the track attempted to explain that the vehicle required pressing the green pedal on the right to move and the red pedal on the left to stop, a concept Johnston rejected as "dangerously retro."

- **The Interface Issue:** Johnston noted that the lack of touchscreens, blind-spot monitoring, or backup cameras made the vehicle feel "uncertified for modern human use."
- **The Braking System:** "Expecting me to manually judge stopping distance without a gentle steering wheel vibration warning is frankly a safety hazard," she added.
- **The Navigation:** Track staff confirmed Higgins spent two full laps pinned against the rubber tire barrier after expecting the kart to auto-steer around the hairpin turn.

Track manager Chris Bell expressed sympathy, though noted this was not an isolated incident.

"Last week a guy tried to voice-command his kart into 'Sport Mode' for three laps before realizing he just had to step on the gas," Bell said. "We’re thinking about putting up a sign, but honestly, people would probably just look for the QR code on it."

At press time, Johnston was seen in the arcade area complaining that the Skee-Ball ramp lacked an automatic ball-return sensor and demanding a full refund in digital currency.
