**Golden, CO** — Subaru, in partnership with the state of Colorado, announced the release of the **2026 Subaru Outback: Native Edition**. Standard equipment includes 9.5 inches of ground clearance, a factory-installed Thule cargo box packed with empty craft IPA cans, and a GPS navigation unit that automatically recalculates routes to avoid driving through low-altitude "flatlander zones."

"We built a vehicle that truly reflects Colorado’s state values," said Subaru spokesperson Skyler Mountain-Gore. "Mainly, that we are better than everyone else, especially anyone who learned to drive in the Midwest."

### **Engineered to Mock Standard U.S. Traffic**

- **Texas-Proof Bumper System:** Reinforced front grille designed specifically for tailgating lifted Ford F-250s with Texas plates that are going 12 mph under the speed limit at the first sign of a single snowflake on I-70.
- **California Anti-Smog Sensor:** Emits a loud, high-pitched frequency inside the cabin whenever the vehicle passes an electric luxury crossover from California, reminding the driver that their vehicle was "actually bought for utility, not status."
- **Florida Rain Defense:** Automatically activates hazard lights and drops speed to 20 mph on dry asphalt whenever it sees a Florida license plate, anticipating the driver's imminent, unannounced cross-lane panic shift.
- **Nebraska Boredom Assist:** Includes a steering wheel weight and a pre-loaded 8-hour podcast on backcountry skiing so drivers can safely fall asleep at the wheel while driving straight through to eastern Colorado without fear of turning.

The vehicle's exhaust system has also been tuned to emit a faint aroma of pine needles, dog hair, and mild condescension.

Early test drivers report that while the car struggles to accelerate at sea level due to oxygen toxicity, it performs flawlessly when merging onto highways at 45 mph without checking blind spots. "I used to feel bad about camping in the left lane," said local driver River Aspen. "But now the car gently reminds me that because I hiked a 14er last Tuesday, I own the road."

Pricing starts at $42,000, or a direct trade for a 2018 Tacoma and a golden retriever.
