**Lefors, TX** — Standard Tuesday traffic came to a grinding halt this morning as a sun-faded, 2007 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab PreRunner reportedly revved its 4.0-liter V6 engine in pure, unbridled celebration upon realizing today is National Taco Day.

The vehicle, locally known as "The Taco," has spent the better part of two decades dutifully hauling drywall, surviving three minor fender benders, and stubbornly refusing to die despite a check engine light that has been illuminated since the Obama administration.

### **A Long-Awaited Day of Recognition**

"Every October, I see people posting about crispy shells, spicy salsa, and guac," typed the Tacoma's owner, Greg Henderson, via a Bluetooth FM transmitter plugged into the lighter socket. "I always thought it was just a coincidence. But then Greg pulled up to the drive-thru today, ordered four carne asada tacos, and set them right on my dashboard. That’s when it hit me: today is *my* day."

Witnesses report that upon receiving the news, the Tacoma briefly flashed its high beams and fired off a short burst of blue smoke from its tailpipe in joyous jubilation.

"I've given this man 280,000 miles of non-stop service," the Tacoma’s engine hummed contentedly through a rusted muffler. "I’ve survived two teenagers learning to drive stick, a trip across the Rockies with an overloaded bed, and three separate attempts to replace my original spark plugs. To finally have a dedicated national holiday where everyone in town is eating 'Tacos' in my honor? It’s truly humbling."

### **Misunderstandings in the Drive-Thru**

Despite the celebratory mood, the day was not without minor friction. Tensions briefly flared at a local Mexican restaurant when the truck attempted to pull straight into the dining room to claim what it assumed was a lifetime supply of free motor oil.

"I tried explaining to the truck that 'National Taco Day' is about the Mexican dish made of seasoned meat folded into a tortilla, not a mid-size Japanese pickup truck manufactured in Fremont, California," Henderson explained while wiping salsa off the truck’s cloth upholstery. "It didn't care. It just kept idling loudly and dripping a tiny drop of power steering fluid onto the pavement like a happy tear."

### **Looking Ahead to 300,000 Miles**

As the sun sets on National Taco Day, the 2007 Tacoma shows no signs of slowing down its festivities—or its daily commute.

"Some trucks get excited for Truck Month," the Tacoma concluded, its frame gently creaking in the autumn breeze. "Not me. Truck Month is commercialized corporate fluff. National Taco Day is about hard work, spicy flavor, and reliable Japanese engineering. See you all next year—and remember, hold the sour cream on my air filter."
